The new moon of Dhu’l Hijjah has been sighted in Saudi Arabia.

The 1st day of Dhu’l Hijjah 1439 will be Sunday 12th August 2018.

8th Dhu’l Hijjah [Start of Hajj] Sunday 19th August 2018.

9th Dhu’l Hijjah [Day of Arafat & Fasting] Monday 20th August 2018.

10th Dhu’l Hijjah Eid Al-Adhā will be on Tuesday 21 August 2018.

For those who intend to do sacrifice please refrain from cutting your hair and nails as Dhu’l Hijjah will be starting from maghrib today (Thursday 11th August 2018).

It was narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When you see the new moon of Dhu’l Hijjah, and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let him refrain from (removing anything) from his hair or nails.” Narrated by Muslim, 1977. According to another version: “Let him not remove anything of his hair or skin.”
