About us

The Islamic Community & Education Centre (ICEC) was set up with the vision of providing basic Islamic education to the community using modern methods coupled with a measured curriculum. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of education both on a religious and secular level, raising the standard for the local community at large. We intend to put the English and Arabic language at the central core of the learning process as well as providing help with English and Mathematics and other school subjects.

We are very much focused on providing for the needs of society and the community we live and work in. We aim to strengthen social cohesion and bring about understanding and tolerance between faiths.

It is for this reason that in January 2014 the charity purchased the premises on Chapel Street, Lye to house our project and act as a resource for the whole of the community, Muslim and non-Muslim.

We had a limited opening at the end of May 2017, just in time for the month of Ramadan and have continued to cater for the five daily prayers and the Friday Jumma prayer since then. The Friday Jumma sermons are delivered in English only.

Please be aware that areas of the site are still being renovated.

The building was previously a public house and so the internals of the building have had to be totally redesigned to accommodate the centre. A new two storey extension at the rear of the site has been erected which accommodates new toilet facilities, store rooms and a new training/meeting room.

The project is truly a community project as a very high percentage of the work on the renovations have been carried out totally by volunteers from the local and surrounding areas with individuals from as far as Birmingham, Walsall and Dudley coming to assist. We would not have come this far without their help.

Please do not hesitate to contact the team at the centre (via the “Contact” page) if you have any questions or require any information on the project.
